Aresco says no...but I think he needs to keep an open mind. I wouldn't mind seeing an 8 team playoff instead of a bunch of who cares bowls

Aresco is right, no need for an open mind regarding this topic.

You can go find a team that wants to be in it. I want no part of it

It's a weak concession to the 'haves.'

I would hope no schools in the AAC or MWC would want this. If CUSA/Sun Belt/MAC want to do it go right ahead.

Correct response from Aresco. AAC is clearly best of the Go5, and we gain nothing by slapping a lower tier designation on us by participating in a leftovers playoff.

Only way I would consider it is if it was in conjunction with concrete access to an expanded national championship playoff

Those who support it without an auto bid into the real playoff is thinking with a losing, future FCS playoff. This would only benefit CUSA and MAC. That's not a future that's just giving up.

Do 8 team playoff. 2 team G5 championship. Winner gets auto bid.

No.

One Division I FBS tournament with all 10 conference champions and 6 at large teams. Anything else is an unfair and arbitrary demarcation created by a sports media world looking to limit the number of properties they have to contract for in order to capture most viewers.

Either CalallenStang's proposal established very soon or legal action to forcec create a defined path of promotion to and relegation from the P% conferences.

Haha to anyone thinking the P5s want to share any money with any of we lowly schools. It will stay at 4 games for the duration of the 10 year contact and then possibly expand, but not in a way to include any more G5 teams than currently have the opportunity.

The question becomes this: Are the G5 teams already permanently banned from the playoff system. If the answer is no (once the contract runs out), then a mid-major championship causes permanent relegation. If however, there is an expansion from 4 to say 8 or 12, then there should be a conversation of a play-in tourney or a permanent spot for highest ranked G5 team. But its premature to go there at this point in my view.
