so the biggest infusion of young redshirt, transfer and new talent in 30 years on the Hilltop and apparently nobody gives a damn about the first open scrimmage. OK-the players are all begging the fans to show up on twitter. I'm pretty excited-this is a peek into the future but I'm always looking 2-3 years ahead. Major competition 2-3 deep at just about every position on the field. The Momentum is about to start rolling downhill but very little signs of interest among ponyfans.

Haven't heard that song since the election of '32. Will SMU football resemble a New Deal?

Stallion what a shame. CCM and his staff have put in many many hours to bring this program back to respectability and very few fans could care less. Those same fans will show up in droves after this year with critical remarks when other schools come calling for his services and it will happen. See you tonight.

It's amazing to me how these coaches have convinced these top athletes to come to SMU with so little support from the administration and fan base. You know these kids sees it. They have put their full trust into these excellent coaches. Proud of our coaches including the basketball coaches also.

I bet more people would show up if he promised we wouldn't be war crimed by Navy and Memphis this year

The difference right now is that SMU fans will support the football team more when they have a record above .500 and win games that matter. I am just enjoying the ride (See basketball for a reference for a turnaround).

Right now CM is running the football program, like it should be run. I hope when he leaves, that we will continue all the best practices he has put in place for the football team.

If HCCM et al didn't expect this when hired, then they're a collective of idiots. It's going to take more....wins, noise, success, press. Sucks, but that is what happens after the DP and subsequent decades of dumpster fires.

Stallion, sorry I can't make it to Big D today but I am sure it will be a good time. I was at practice a couple of weeks ago and the difference from a year ago is 180 degrees. This team now has athletes at least 2 deep everywhere. QB's looked crisp, receivers looked smooth and the lineman are huge on both sides of the ball. People need to check this team out, they are for real this year. Will they win every game, no, but they will be able to beat everyone on their schedule, in my opinion. I talk to my son after every practice and this team is focused, hungry and pissed about how last year ended. Should be a fun ride this year.

You'll know next year at this time with spring training under the next coach.
