Matt Davis: Looking forward

Postby PonyPride » Mon Apr 03, 2017 2:09 am

His senior season derailed by a knee injury in the season opener, SMU quarterback Matt Davis considered pursuing a waiver from the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility. But when that process dragged out, he realized it was time to move on to the next chapter in his life. Davis signed with an agent and has been working out in preparations for this week's SMU Pro Day, at which he hopes to catch the eye of NFL scouts. Davis visited with PonyFans.com to discuss his decision to abandon the eligibility waiver, the rehab process, the feedback he has gotten from NFL teams and his mindset as Pro Day approaches.

Sure would have been nice to get another year for Matt.
Good luck to him.

I wish Davis could have stayed another year, but I sincerely wish him success at the next level. Hard to ask more from a teammate. He's had more than his fair share of tough breaks, so hopefully some will fall his way at the next level. Would love for him to stay in Texas either with the Cowboys or Texans.

Honestly better for the program for him not to come back as a QB. I hope he's successful at he next level. It certainly won't be for lack of character.
