Yeah that would make a BIG difference. If you are an SMU alum and its the Fall and you can't be bothered to check out the Football schedule to see if your team is playing on Saturday-a billboard is gonna do the trick. Or SMU alums just might not give a [deleted]. One of those two options

We need Dallas, not just SMU alums.

It's on SMU to make SMU alumni (or the unaffiliated Dallas inhabitant) care about the football team.

There's been no effort there for 30 years.

What plan do you recommend Stallion- from both a marketing and scheduling perspective ?

we gotta build our own fan use - and you do that by winning - not borrowing other teams fans. Basketball has proven that. Dallas will adopt us if they are adopting a winner.

Lets try this and see how it goes. We know what happens when we hit mid october without a win.

We always fail these tests.

Its just not a hard formula - and has been used already by many.

1) Schedule easy while building - rack up cheap meaningless wins and play in mid level bowls.
2) Due to above, recruit better and slowly increase schedule strength
3) Build and add fans as they bandwagon - and bring them along as team gets better and schedule gets better at same time.
Repeat steps 1-3 above forever.

June didn't give up due to getting butt hurt after TCU. He gave up because he was lazy. Chad don't have any lazy in him.

The Boise state model. Win your conference consistently and make the most of your opportunities when you get the big boys

This will be a true test of the down-scheduling model.
I hope it works.
But in my heart and head I know it's gonna be me and 7,500 other people in Ford come November.

Right on. No one cares about our lousy home schedule.
