I know that you have good reading comprehension skills so I will not restate my post.

Blow them out and upgrade. If we can't, we have a bigger problem than scheduling.

The only chance we have for home field advantage is to be able to limit the opposing team fans, and we need Ford for that.

The same reason why people want us to play Alabama when we can't stay on the same field as Memphis.

I want us to play P5 competition. If we want to be with them we had best play with them. If we are too scared to do so then we need to concede we will never get better. And yes, we should also try to beat Memphis.

It is all about the quality of competition and regional interest. Nothing wrong with Ford; problem is that our schedule has no interest for most games. To lure people from outside of SMU there has got to be something they want to see. Our schedule does not interest anyone including the most ardent fans who post on this board.

I am moderately interested in Arkansas State but to the common fan, our schedule is straight garbage. I'm always amused when people say how tough our road schedule is. We might not play a Sagarin top 50 team all year. "Oh but our road schedule is so tough bro! Those Golden Hurricances are beast."

Tulsa isn't on our road schedule so you might want to take another look.

Great, following this plan should get us an upgraded schedule sometime in the early 2030s.

Hard to believe, but this year will be our 17th year at Ford.

Assuming 6 home games per year we are talking about ~100 games.

Exclude Army bowl game and Kansas grand opening, those are exceptions.

TCU, Baylor, Tech, A&M and OSU make up ~20 of these 100 home games. For sake of argument let's say it's exactly 20.

To Stallion, Lifeson, SMusic, RGV, Snob, Mrydel, LA, Berger or anyone who has attended virtually every home game at Ford, if you ranked them by attendance, would the above make up the entire Top 20?

I would rather string a handful of 9-10 win seasons for a good decade against SFA and UNT. Eventually we can beat TCU and a few others we run into. Then you'll start seeing a difference. Dallas loves a winner, look at our basketball team for crying out loud. Just win, consistently, the rest takes care of itself. All this talk about TCU and Jerry World reminds me of a kid who's desperately planning on what moves to pull on a girl when she has no intention of even meeting with him.

Instead of harping on the non-conf schedule..... SMU fans, students, and alumni should be happy to go watch a much improved football team, playing very good games, in a very competitive conference. A conference title is the goal, everything else a distraction.

Just looking at this years schedule there are a lot of good teams. UConn meh, Houston still good but headed down from it's Herman peak, Cincy certainly headed up with Fickell and his recruiting at the helm, Tulsa probably peaked last year but still tough with that offense, UCF will be challenging for the title soon, Navy always very good and title contender, Memphis very good and title contender, Tulane on the verge of bowl game with a great new coach. SMU is right in the middle of this pack in a very competitive conference. Morris will have all he can handle just figuring out a way to beat the majority of these teams for the foreseeable future.

What's the problem? Without the ability to win the conference, the discussions about beating P5 teams, and filling the stadium, are pure fantasy.
