The barcode scanners of the 1940s were not as accurate as they are today.

This is a great strategy-

If the 40 most die-hard SMU fans were charged with each bringing in 999 people in order to see the game all of our attendance problems would be solved.

BTW - I also have to question how accurate the scanners are even today.

Interesting they made two trips to California in the same year, I didnt know teams traveled that much back then
