This is what we're spending our money on? 90% of the time if it rains the freakin game is delayed anyway because there is lighting within 100 miles.

Worst Rain Games:

1984(?) SMU at Baylor-Don King engineers one of the most improbable 4th Quarter comeback wins in a deluge
1986 SMU at Baylor-cleared up after 2nd Quarter
the SMU v TCU Monsoon-probably the most miserable because it lasted the entire game
the SMU v UH game which re-started about 3 hours are delay
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

I was at all of those games you mentioned, but by far the worst without comparison, was the Navy game in 2008. By the fourth quarter, the only people left in the stands, were the cadets and a few of us in the SMU section.

We played Arkansas in Little Rock under tornado warnings and it was on ABC. I believe it was the Dupard era. Officials could not spot the ball because it kept floating away with about 3 or 4 inches deep rain on the turf. ABC camera man on a crane above the scoreboard was swaying to a point that he had to be fearing for his life. They did not stop games for weather in those days.

That was 1983, SMU was Victorious 17 - 0.

Of course they could have done it because it was different and fun for the players, not to mention brutally hot in Dallas on Friday.

I was there as well sitting in the south end zone. Lou Holtz was the Arkansas coach as I remember. A tornado came thru parts of Little Rock during the game. I was also at the Navy game (I think my wife and I were the last SMU fans left by the end of the horrible wet game) and the rain and wind was worse in the Little Rock game.
Long live Inez Perez!
