In the days after a game, we use this space to dispense a little perspective when it comes to what transpired Saturday for North Texas.

Shouldn't take long this week.

The Mean Green looked great while pounding a Lamar team reeling from the impact of Hurricane Harvey on its Beaumont campus.

Running back Jeffery Wilson needed just 12 carries to rush for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Mason Fine showed why it was a "well, duh" decision that he should return as UNT's starting quarterback while throwing for 224 yards and three more touchdowns. The pair helped UNT roll up a program record 668 yards on its way to a 59-14 win at Apogee Stadium.

Now, about SMU.

Anyone who follows football — and sports in general — knows that some games just mean more than others.

For UNT, games don't come any bigger than those against SMU.
