Uniforms

I was entertained by last nights game and can't complain so on to the least important matter. I continue to hate that shade of blue with the candy cane stripes. That is the least intimidating uniform in our wardrobe. Not a big fan of the reflective paint pony on the helmet either. Uniforms should be bold. The all white look is always good.

The chrome on the helmets is one of the many things the young kids like so it will stay. I did learn that the face masks have to be re-chromed after each game used and it costs $85/helmet.

I would like a return to the basic blue from the Pony Express days

The facemasks almost looked like they had LEDs last night it was wild.

I agree I hate the chrome but also realize it is no longer a battle worth fighting.

Great to see the blue as always.

That price will be minimal when we have to buy the new tech helmets at $1500 each.

Some day they will learn that the way to stop the head injuries is to do away with the helmets. In the past I often played tackle football with no gear at all. Never got hurt. When you start putting on the equipment that makes you "invincible " then you start getting hurt. With a helmet I suffered numerous concussions.

I agree with you but you can't sell no helmets. $0. Now we've got padded helmets, helmets that give, helmets with sensors etc. $$$$ They will never end up with no helmets, just helmets that cost $500

I agree that about the details of the uniform but since it's the closest we've come to getting it right in years I'll cut them some slack. If we just stayed like this the rest of the year I'd be happy.

I think Blackie Sherrod used to make a similar argument. He suggested doing away with the facemask. I wonder if anyone had done a useful study to compare football to rugby re head injuries.

Ummm... the Saturday game was the most traditional home uniform we have and it looked great. It's the updated version of the Pony Express set. Helmets look great as well.
Our uni set can get a tad Arena League sometimes with all the mixing of colors, but I've liked what we've worn the first two games.
