SMU Offense

Postby OLEJACKETFAN » Wed Sep 13, 2017 8:08 pm

This will be the first chance in Morris time at SMU that we really get to see his Offense! The past 2 years have been limited due to depth and injuries. Also some lack of talent in a couple spots. The last 2 weeks have been very basic by design. I really believe Saturday will be eye opening!

Ready to see a hybrid Clemson/Boise type of playcalling.

Unfortunately, the TCU best defense is probably the best they have had in a number of years and may be a Top 20 defense.

Thoughts:
1) If SMU's offense puts up good numbers, it will be a VERY good year once we get into AAC play.
2) If SMU's offense struggles against the Frogs, it is not a sign of the Apocalypse. TCU's defense is likely to be the best (by a mile) that SMU faces all year.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

As a side note, if we score 21 or more there will be a great increase of heat on the seat of Coach Bielima.

I was stunned to see how poorly the Beloved Razorbacks looked playing against TCU. TCU could have made that game look much worse for the Beloved Razorbacks. I thought Bielima had recurited better than that effort.

Pardon the reference, but I think we should go "all out" on offense just like June did in 2011. Throw it deep early and often. Max protect. I like our WR chances against their DBs. Go up early. Only chance we have IMHO. (I'm keeping my expectations low, but will be cheering very loudly as usual). Pony Up!
