Gary Patterson gonna Gary Patterson

Postby smu2004 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 7:58 am

Before anyone could ask Gary if he'd like a glass of water, he pretty much pooh-poohed the merits of a 20-point win over an old rival.

"We're bigger, we're more physical, we're more experienced," he said of his 3-0 crew, as compared with the 2-1 Mustangs.

"Should have been 80."

Water is wet; the sun is hot; and Gary Patterson is a Dee-bag.

Carry on.

The truth is hard to hear sometimes. Our coach is loyal and has stayed for 17 years, teaches kids to jump for Hail Mary's, and says things that might upset the opposing team's fans. Your coach has the Baylor and A&M ADs on speed dial. Wanna trade? I am jealous about one thing. Arkansas St will bring more fans to Dallas, than y'all did to Ft Worth.

You can speak the truth without being a [deleted] like he is. If they could have scored 80 then they would have and SMU could have scored more too. Patterson has little or no tact and that is why no school has lured him away from TCU.

That's okay, he is what he is. Next week, the toads will be in Stillwater, and after a 30 point loss, some how, some way, it will be SMU's fault he failed to win (or he'll blame someone else, but never himself... maybe his towel girl).

Most SMU fans believe that we would have scored 50+ if we had put our backup QB in the game - and they might have been right about that...

Not 80, but realistically, when they didn't score it was due to mistakes that they made.

On the other hand we gave them some on our mistakes as well.

Nope.... you can respect the job Patterson has done (and his loyalty) without respecting the guy. Don't want to trade for him. He's a [deleted] as stated. We're headed on the right path. It just takes time. Morris brings us to a point and if he does bolt then the next guy has a solid foundation to work with.
We'll get better.

I just hope we have the stones to handle them at their cave on the hardwood this season. Gonna be a real test.

Patterson lashes out in the press like that when he feels threatened somehow. Chad must be in gary's head now. He doesn't like his defense giving up 36 points and having breakdowns against anybody. His D is good, but we were able to hat them up most of the day for the most part and he knows it. Just needed a bit more variety with a gillens at times in red zone etc, but bad luck that he couldn't go.

Not sure why everybody keeps acting like TCU has some great defense? They shut out powerhouse Jackson St., and held a terrible Arkansas team to 7 points......WOW! The Patterson defense has been falling off for years, and the defense we just witnessed looked pretty mediocre as well. What is supposedly so great about it? Average DE's, only 1 good LB, DB's falling for trick plays, and giving up 300 yards to 'can't hit the broad side of a barn' Ben Hicks!

Can only imagine what Okie St & Oklahoma are going to do to that 'great' defense.

They are to be respected because they have very good size and explosiveness at D tackles, great speed at both 2 linebacker and 2 safety spots and apparently NFL caliber corner. I think you can pinch their ends and OSU and OU probably will, but they have enough speed in the back to compensate. But yeah, smu coulda scored 50 too with better execution, so Gary is worried now.

Well he doesn't need to be worried for the very reasons you stated.

Chad has so improved this Offense that by the time he fills the missing and most important piece of this puzzle, he will be gone.

I think they lose next week at Stillwater.

If they get 'slaughtered' it will just make our loss look worse.
