It looks like we better be ready, they play fast, hard, and high energy.

Some notes because the highlight package is awesome, but doesn't tell the story

1. The receiver who caught like almost every pass in that video has graduated. This is the first year I can remember in which we use a bunch of different guys at receiver. Arkansas transfer Kendrick Edwards the current top receiver, but there are 4-5 other guys who will all be targeted. And that doesn't count Tight End Blake Mack, who is basically a tall receiver in his own right.

2. The offense is radically different. The thing that wasn't shown in that video was how terrible our offense was that game. We absolutely destroyed UCF defensively, and in many cases should have won by 30 or 40, but we couldn't move the ball. OC was committed to running it almost every down, and we simply didn't have the horses up front to line up and do that against a team as big as UCF. After the game the OC was "Re-assigned" Anderson brought in a bunch of old Baylor coaches to teach the players their system. Currently, we are not very big, but we are very fast, and we will play at an incredibly fast pace.

3. A couple of the guys that featured prominently on the defensive side in that video is Bama transfer Dee Liner, who has the ability when on his game to just blow up his man. His issue is that he's recovering from an injury, and has a history of being inconsistent. Javon Roland Jones is the reigning Sun Belt player of the year at DE. He is really more of a linebacker size wise, but he plays rush end for us. He leads the conference and school in sacks.

4. Special Teams is always interesting. Anderson requires all starters except the QB and both the OL and DL to play and start on Special Teams. That means our return game, especially on punts is very good, our punt block game is strong, and if our kicker can keep kickoffs in bounds, we generally do a good job on kick returns. The actual kicking part remains a mystery. We've not had a consistent kicker in years. We don't give scholarships to kickers or punters, so both those sides have the potential to be an adventure. Simply put, we'd rather not punt or attempt a field goal unless we absolutely have to.

5. As I have mentioned before. The biggest factor in that game is UCF completely overlooked us. We heard about their previously hitherto unknown "P6" status for 2 weeks before the game, and how they'd dominate us because you know...reasons. Central Florida lost because they didn't respect us.

6. Don't know if It's been mentioned here before, but Chad Morris knows our program very well. The year we hired Anderson, our AD spent 48 straight hours in Clemson trying to convince Morris to come here. He declined in the end because he didn't want to uproot his daughter until after she graduated. Morris has mentioned before he has a lot of respect for our program overall. He's simply not going to let you guys overlook us to the levels that Scott Frost let UCF.
