SMU 3-1...So what do you think?

A few surprises...

-Hicks ran for a touchdown tonight....
-Hicks remains what we saw earlier this year...a 50% passer.
-We ran the ball well tonight. Not perfectly, but consistently.
-Our kicker may not be as solid as we thought.
-The coaches made key adjustments at halftime, and it showed.
-Defense is still a work in progress, but it is MAKING progress, at least against an explosive opponent.

Conference time...get healthy this week. Noticed after the game on the ESPN3 feed that Morris was greeting each of the assistants with "good job"...Good to know that there are still folks that have a degree of gratitude and class.

A GREAT win tonight.

Chad came over and thanked the mustang 11, and student section, or what was left of it, about 30 kids at games end. Threw his hat to us too.

dang that was a lot of offense tonight...
how many yards of offense did we end up with?

yes Hicks is a very erratic passer....
but I guess unless Hicks melts-down we stick with him

how many extra points has our kicker missed after 4 games?
this is inexcusable!
is he a scholarship player?

student attendance for a now 3-1 team is atrocious

how could a non-televised game run this long?

did the announcer refer to the "Red Hawks" a few times?

Sound from refs mic terrible in first half....do they test these before the game?

Announcer and scoreboard wrong after our score....WTH?

Kind of like the 3rd down horse sounds

We have found a way to solidly beat the 3 non-conference teams we were expected to beat. The offense hasn't always been pretty, but I'll take it.

I'm disappointed that we havent found a way to get the ball to Sutton more, but it's nice to see that we have other guys we can target.

Our defense has still got to make some strides, but they are young, so it may be a rocky season. Hopefully they keep getting better and we keep putting up a crap ton of points on offense.

Yes I would like Sutton to get the ball more, but if Hicks was forcing the ball in to him when he is doubled up, we would be more upset.

More concerning to me are the times that Sutton is left in single coverage and Hicks either doesn't see him, or has one of his bad throws.

The team is better than it has been in a while. I was hoping for 3-1, expected 2-2 and feared 1-3.
I still don't have a handle on how good the team is, though.
Arkansas State is a good team, but SFA is awful and North Texas is somewhere in between.
Defense is better.
Nice to see a running game tonight, but again, it's hard to know how much to read into that improvement because it's hard to know how good the ASU defense is, and they lost 2 defensive linemen tonight.

We're 3-1 and should be 3-1.
But it would have been a totally SMU thing to do to drop another non-conference game.

This was a damn good win. We were ready to play tonite which was the biggest test. I'd give the team an A-. We are becoming a strong football team

Hicks has the job because his misses don’t get picked off. 10 TDS vs 3 INT. 250 yds per game.

Young secondary is going to cost smu a winnable game.

If their qb had been completely healthy in the second half would have been a different game. He was very impressive.

OSU beat TCU 44 - 31 . . . in Stillwater. Daily Oklahoman headline called OSU "Outmatched."

Ponies may be better than we think.

OTOH, is a 60% passer too much to ask for?
