I understand we got behind and had to throw with time running out, but I think we "over did" the running back by committee thing. X Jones was running wild and we should have kept going back to him. I understand that we won't to get close and then bring in the "bruiser" once the defense is on it's heels, but with running backs, I think you have to stick to the hot hand. Pull him out for a snap or 2 when needs a blow, but if I was X Jones, I'd be pissed. He was running all over them and West had a little bit of a burst (playing in front of his home crowd). I know we're also trying to save legs for the season, but this was "winning time" and with a bye coming up.

Looking back, the one thing that really did surprise me is that Applewhite "out called" Morris in this one. I'm very surprised by that. A few examples:

- He stuck with Catalon and kept running and he finally broke a few.
- We didn't stick with X Jones when he was running wild on them. He could have easily had over 150 yards rushing if we stuck with it (and I'm not talking about the last 2 drives).
- No real throws to Proche (the one in the flat and then the forced one, but on one drive Quinn had to come out for a breather - even superman gets tired - and we stalled, instead of just keep going right at them (Proche can run the same routes and get open, he's not as savvy/strong as Quinn but he's shifty and athletic and it could have helped had it gotten one or two intermediate middle routes targeted to him).
- They hit on a big trick play and then we did not counter. Instead of coming right back and staying aggressive, we got conservative. That's on the play calling with those 2 crucial 3 and outs there in the second half. That was the game right there.

Had we won? I don't know, hard to over come those missed "gimme" kicks and all those penalties on the road against a good team but I'd like our chances. Sutton's key drop also.

Ok, done with the "monday morning quarterbacking". Beat Cincy!! Pony UP!

You know, Sutton is an All American and we expect him to catch everything, but if you look at that play closely, the DB came over his back (legally) and then hooked Sutton’s left arm and jerked it away, causing the ball to drop. A very, very well played defensive back move that should receive some credit.
