....another small crowd was that Fresno St. game at the Cotton Bowl-I think it was a Thursday Nite game-heck could have even been Halloween-there was about 4,000 and change

Too early for me to get there Saturday and Friday commitments keep me from coming early. I have two tickets and a parking pass if someone wants them. I can send them snail mail if you want the parking pass. PM me with an address.

I was at that game as well. The crowd was so small, you wondered if you had the correct day!

Maybe if we call it the “Sigma Mu Upsilon Powderpuff Game” we can get students to stick around. Not lying...

Tailgate to start at 8 . Like the coffee drink idea.
I know about wanting the money from TV but the roving/manipulated game times hurt attendance.

7 pm in Aug and Sept.
2 pm start time in Oct, Nov.

People need to be able to plan. Book flights, schedule their dinner with in laws.
SMU in too many ways thinks... that they are the tail that wags the dog.

Love me some SMU but I live in reality.

Once upon a time, that was possible. But once conferences/schools accepted the most money they could get from TV, that all went out the window.

Only thing this start time affects is the Boulevard attendance and I concur with gostangs post about the constant attendance hand wringing.

I'm all for pre-game libations. As the joke goes, call yourself a drunkard, not an alcoholic. That way you avoid all of the meetings.

No, you do not live in reality! If you really think what you wrote, you are totally unaware of reality.

TCU is having a fine season this year. TCU's game with Texas Tech was originally scheduled for a 2:30 kickoff. TCU lost to OU on Saturday, and the time for the TCU/TT game was changed to 11 a.m. immediately following the conclusion of the OU/TCU game.

So, SMU is not hassling you personally with the game times. It it the reality of college football, and one you should educate yourself about and stop whining. Or give a billion dollar endowment to the athletic department and say all you want.
