I don’t think we lose more than one or two if that.

You realize don’t you that the best athlete in 30 years here is Nic Moore?

I don't know how that went down. Did Nic ask to tag along or did Jankovich try to lure him over?

He was All-Freshman MVC, yet he valued Jank over SoIll. It happens.

And everyone on this board will get excited if our next HC ‘steals’ the best recruits from his old school, we all know this.

If a recruit contacts the departed coach it is one thing but for the departed coach to immediately go after his former school's top commitments is another. No one is denying that it happens. It is basically the norm, but that doesn't mean it is right.

I never coached, but I did manage large numbers of people during my career and when I changed employers, I went after the best people I knew to fill positional needs and yes, that meant stealing from my previous employer. Did a start up once and basically took the top 10% of my previous staff. If you aren't trying to help your current situation any way you can, then you aren't doing your job or at least that's the way I look at it.

That's why many employers will have you sign non-compete agreements.

that would pretty much be a miracle--sometimes it takes a few days for them to start looking around. At least 4-5 are teetering

And why the school has a letter of intent. The commitment is basically worthless until the LOI is signed.

You must not spend much time in California. That is laughable here, and I seriously doubt other states are that much different. Employees have the right to better themselves.

CP used the word ‘steal’ effectively. He did nothing wrong. Very few employees have employment agreements, almost everyone is at-will.

Had to know that Chad would offer anyone he thinks will help him at Arkansas. Question remains how many guys from this class will remain committed and whether a new coach might bring in an 11th hour surprise or two to offset the sting of Chad taking our top recruits. Could make that a poll question. My guess is that as many as half of these guys honor their commitments and come to SMU. Just hope it is not all of the guys who have no better options.
