Sell me on Jeff Traylor

I keep seeing that he will be considered for the job, and will coach the bowl game, which is fine. But can someone tell me why he was named asst HC, while only coaching RBs? I get having him on the staff for recruiting east Texas, but all i know of Jeff is that He was a HS Coach. What is the deal here?

Being from Longview, I've heard all about Jeff Traylor and how amazing of a job he did at Gilmer while he was there.

Do I think he's ready for the HC role at SMU? No, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a HC role in a couple years. Just don't think he's ready to take that step yet.

While I wish Chad the best of luck, I think he needed to develop more as a HC here. I'm worried that he's jumping into a team that mid-level SEC team that have fans that expect conference championships. I think he gets one year to work out kinks. He got to do better than 6-6 the following year, and I don't know what shape Arkansas is in but given they almost lost to a FCS school (Costal) I have to assume they're fairly weak, and Chad's stolen recruits probably aren't going to uplift as high. Just my opinion, but curious what other people think.

Would be great if we could snag Texas defensive coordinator Todd Orlando as head coach, would definitely improve the defense considering Texas only averages 21 point against them per game. Then promote trailer to OC and head of recruiting or something like that to keep the internal thing going to keep the players happy

If the next HC wants him to stay. But I think he has a very good chance to be the HC.
