Should we consider Bret Bielema?

Postby Insane_Pony_Posse » Wed Dec 06, 2017 3:30 pm

A Trade With Arkansas?
Not sure what happened at Ark, but the guy was 68-24 w/3 Big Ten titles at Wisconsin

probably bottom of the list in my opinion. Heck I probably give Jeff Traylor a chance then.

No-he needs to head back North. 15 Texans signed in 5 years-he was the mistake I predicted the day he was hired.

Only if he brings his wife. She will take Dallas by storm.

I met him several years ago when he was still coaching at Wisconsin and came away extremely impressed. I would absolutely want to play for him and would encourage anyone to do so. However, I think he is disqualified due to geography. I have no doubt he will resurge as a prominent coach in the future, but SMU is not the place for him.

Inherited a good Wisconsin program from Barry Alvarez, Alvarez keeps close watch over the program so the HC essentially has a safety net. Without that safety net Bielema got exposed.

I like him as a very good person. Sorry to disagree with Reed. But he is not a coach for us.

I think I read where he’s going to take a year off of coaching and focus on his health since he has a newborn baby and a fresh $11.8 million lol

No. If he can't recruit to Arkyland, he hasn't a chance at SMU. Good coach but not right for us. I wish him well and he will land on his feet. Just hope it's at a better fit for him.

I guess I just have images of him drinking with his shirt off and flopping to get a personal foul call against Bama...

Well if you want to talk bodies, let’s include his wife in the conversation. Best recruiting job he ever performed.

He must have something on her because he definitely outkicked his coverage by a mile.
