does anybody else find it odd that our last two coaches have essentially flipped SMU the bird when they left? It makes me wonder if there are other problems that create such a bad feeling when they leave.

Mexmustang pointed out that the SMU administration is difficult to deal with.

Scott Frost for sure. Not Mike Leach? :-)

If Tech had been available, would that have been a better job than Arkansas?

Fayetteville > Lubbock. Also Arkansas facilities are probably top 3 in the country while Tech is not even close.

James Franklin took out a full page ad in the Tennessean to thank the Vandy fans as he departed for Penn State... Just sayin' - and the fan support at Vandy was prob bottom of the barrel for SEC.

The act of purchasing a newspaper ad that will be seen by fans of a player or coach’s former team has become a bit of a custom. It largely depends on the role that figure played in the landscape of the local sports scene. Few would argue the impact James Franklin had at Vanderbilt since joining the program to serve as head coach.

Franklin had an advertisement run in today’s issue of The Tennessean. In it was a simple photo of Franklin and a brief message of thanks to Vanderbilt and their fans.

“Thank you Vanderbilt,” Franklin’s message reads. “It was a wonderful experience. I am forever grateful. Anchor down.”

Why are you an apologist for a dude that basically gave your team the middle finger?

I don't remember any recruits from Clemson coming with Chad. But he is going to steal our best ones.

Not really an apples to apples comparison. That would be like having our coach leave to take a job at a Southland Conference/FCS school and taking some of our recruits with him...but Chad did get the S.Carolina DT to transfer (played for Clemson's rival but had been on both schools radar when recruited) so he at least used some of the information he had on potentially available playersa that could bolster his/SMU's roster
