We better not be paying more than $500,000-800,000 if those are the options.

really need "Other" or "No Confidence"

SMU rarely has chosen the "Right Guy" over 70 years-yet we still suffer through it. There are a bunch who will still buy season tickets but are not happy with either candidate

Not an option in the poll or reality

Might as well close up shop if we can’t even offer 6-6 P5 DC...

Dykes is a good coach. But he will probably be at SMU for one year then head for TTech if they fire Kingsbury next year.

And that would be fine by me because it most likely will have meant he was able to produce a winning record with what will be a much tougher schedule next year. I wonder whether he might be able to help sign a couple of guys who will contribute down the road at SMU?

I wonder if the circle of champions has thrown in the towel. the above options should be nothing more than bargain basement choices.. and poor ones at that.

Should save them some money or hopefully give the new HC a bigger pool for assistants. Dykes is an offensive minded guy and if he wants Traylor as OC that will take some $$, not to mention an upgrade on the defensive side of the ball. Dykes' track record on D no better than Chad's.

At La Tech he had a pretty good defense.

I know Stepp has already been hired at Arky, but would it be possible that he would come back if we offered him the OC position? The players seem to love him and he's a really good recruiter.

While Dykes struggled at California, to be fair the Bears have struggled mightily since he left. So maybe he didn't do such a bad job there and lets face it- that isn't an easy place to win much like our situation. Hard to get a good feel for what he can do especially here if he gets the job. La.Tech and Cal are vastly different jobs.

I wonder if Hart at least reached out to Todd Graham. Not sure what his buyout might have been or whether he wants to be coaching next year, but at least he demonstrated he could get the job done at Tulsa. I think it helps to have a guy that at least knows the environment he's coming into but I guess your two finalists on this poll fit that bill
