Baker Mayfield's college debut vs. SMU

In his first college game, Baker Mayfield completed 43 of 60 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns as Texas Tech defeated SMU 41-23. The Red Raiders won their first five games with Mayfield at quarterback but he was injured in the fifth game against Kansas. They won their next two games but finished the season with five straight losses. Communication broke down between him and the coaching stuff and, when he wasn't offered a scholarship, he transferred to Oklahoma.
