Absolutely childish. So hiring a guy without even G5 coordinating experience solves all our problems?! That would be the G5 of all G5 moves. When I think of elite coaching searches I think hiring the guy that has 3 Total years of coaching at the college level with no Coordiantor position in his resume. Sounds elite alright. You guys want to quit, quit. Like Myrdel stated, you should be committed to the school not the coach.

I just hope with the attitude of many of our "Fans" that our new coach makes a commitment to SMU.

I'm sure he would be just thrilled to come to our little coaching slice of heaven and work hard for our stellar fanbase after reading some of the posts on this board.

Our new coach is committed to getting back to the P5. SMU is the vehicle to get him there, that's about the extent of his commitment to SMU which is fine as long as he wins.

Pretty evident based on his history. Highly unlikely he changed in just one year.

I'm an SMU fan. Have liked some of the coaches. Haven't liked others. People forget that during the DP years many of us bought the Cornerstone Package which was a multi-year season ticket commitment without knowing who our head coach would be from year to year. Without those ticket sales I doubt that we would have a program today. Pure childishness to put the financial well being of the program even more at risk because of a coaching hire. Besides, its not like Chad was selling the house out. We need more fans who will stick around from year to year.

This thread is very sad. I'm keeping my tickets because I love SMU. Some of you are acting like we just hired a lower-tier school's special teams coordinator as our head coach. Good lord.

Don't be depressed. It's only a couple of people, and I would bet not only are they all talk, but if they do there will be just as many that come in because we have a more proven coach coming in.

That’s a great way to describe this hire!

For someone who is walking away, you sure are firing off a bunch of posts. I'm guessing you are all talk.

Uh walking away from watching games live. Not complaining about crappy coach selections.
