With the young OL ready and the stable of RB, this was set up to be the power spread offense that Chad ran at Clemson next year.
It will be interesting to see what Dykes does with that. If his time at TCU shows that he is changing his offensive system a bit, or if we are going to transition back to a pass-first offense.

Time at TCU might actually help the defense more. His offenses were good enough to put a couple of QB’s in the NFL.

There was a quote from Dykes somewhere about how he adapts his scheme to his players, not the other way around. When he was at La Tech he ran the ball a fair amount

That sounds like the kind of coach we have been looking for...not someone who will need 3-4 years to start over and recruit a roster full of guys to run the only system he knows how to run

Will be an interesting QB battle all year.

His system is based on Franklins system which used power running to set up passes to the TE. He never got it working at Cal because he did not have a good RB.

That is great news. 75 is going to be a phenomenal center for us for the next 3 years, and we will have the OL for the power running game in a spread system.

There will not be any QB battle next year, unless its from the Redshirt Freshman......Hicks as QB was our 2nd best position group behind our wide receivers. Our RB's didn't quite live up to the hype this year....but a lot of that has to go on the OL.

Is Peavy transferring? I would imagine that with a new offense and coach, both will get an equal opportunity to win the starting job. Doesn’t the air raid require a really accurate QB with a quick release like the run and shoot? Is Peavy accurate? Like June said, Tim Tebow wouldn’t be good in the run and shoot because he isn’t accurate enough.
That said, I have no idea how good any of the other QBs are. I remember reading some positive reviews about the La Porte freshman QB.

#44 Rushing is pretty good when your passing is #16. I think it's really our OL that keeps our running game from being very explosive. Only 3 fumbles for the year is pretty good IMO.

Our running game is just fine with excellent yards per carry. Note Kemon's ypc at 4.4 is a tad lower than Xavier (6.0 ypc) and Braeden (7.9 ypc) because he was used in short yardage a bunch-see 9 TDs and I bet a similar high number of First Downs. Its probably one of the best performances in 3 Decades

Wonder how Medlock will like riding the bench again next year or does he force himself into this crowded field?

I thought I read they moved him to DB this year.

plus we got Tamerik Williams coming in who averages 13 yards per carry. One more playoff victory and we get to see him in State Championship

What a luxury if we could RS Tamerik. RB position not really a concern right now. Actually Jones is the only guy who has burned a RS so lots of flexibility there, depending on recruiting and whether these guys can stay healthy
