Never understood why, even if you're an offensive-minded head coach (JJ, Chad, Dykes), you can't just go out and hire a great DC. Are they mutually exclusive?

It is not the defensive coordinator's fault in most cases of a poor defense the offensive-minded HC will recruit for the offense leaving the defense short on depth and quality recruits.

And not unheard of for HC to make a decision to move a guy from D to O (Sutton a case in point)
