His bad punting is really hurting NDSU today.

That dude should have just stayed at SMU and at least gotten an education. I don't understand these guys with so so talent that chase the dream and end up with some stupid degree from backwards U just to play football somewhere, ANYWHERE!!.

You need to get an education. Jackson Koonce got his degree from SMU, a master's degree from NDSU and a national championship! Yeah, these kids are so stupid.

Didn't realize that. Good for him - glad he got his degree from SMU. By far the most important part of that list.

Sounds like a pretty good resume to me.

Good for him. And NDSU is not a terrible school.

He got his degree in 3 years?

Yep. Remember a lot of these kids come to college with college credits already in the bank. Going every summer, really not that hard to finish in 3 years especially if that is your goal. Get a degree and 2 years of eligibility left.

Kids are at SMU for 2 summer school sessions for 3 years. Not too tough to graduate in 3 or 3 1/2 years.

When you get free* school it's easy to take a bunch of summer terms.

Summer terms not an option if you are on scholarship. You get spring break, whatever is left after your last game until the spring semester starts and a couple of weeks after the spring semester ends. The rest of your time, the football program owns. Only way you can participate in summer workout program is to be enrolled in school. The summers are optional fro non-scholarship players.

Players have to apply for Summer School classes and funding for housing over the summer. Only a certain amount of players can attend classes in the summer for free.

I did one summer term as a student in 2008. I don't recommend doing that out of pocket. More power to the athlete who can swing it for free.
