VIDEO: Meet the new defensive coaches

Postby PonyPride » Thu Mar 15, 2018 12:27 am

New SMU defensive coordinator Kevin Kane, defensive line coach Brett Diersen, cornerbacks coach Kevin Curtis, defensive ends coach Randall Joyner and safeties coach Trey Haverty met the media to discuss the Mustangs' new defense, their impressions of the offseason strength program and how much they know about the players' on-field abilities.

like the positive comments about how well received the guys have been in recruiting and that they are going after athletes 1st and foremost to upgrade the defense. I guess we have Morris and his staff along with the hiring of Sonny to thank for any uptick in recruiting...it certainly wasn't JJ's doing.

Kane seems like someone who I would want to play for. Kind of like Buddy Wyatt or Dustin Fry or Tom Mason

It is encouraging and exciting to hear the high school coaches are still so receptive to our coaches in recruiting!

Thanks to Morris for reestablishing those connections, but I am looking forward to seeing the results of a coaching staff that recruits but can also actually coach.

Kane seems sharp as hell.

"Hit it."
