We need perfect weather for people to show up, and even then it's not a ton of people.
We couldn't have had two worse weather scenarios for our first two games with our fanbase.

Regardless if you do the analytics, losing to NTCC is considered an embarrassment. Yeah they're a hell of a lot better but due to history it's like the Jets losing to the Browns. Yeah Browns are hell of a lot better but everyone is beyond disappointed in that fan base. The same holds true for the casual SMU fan. My prediction was based on the fact it's family weekend and that a lot of people will be travelling from out of town and won't skip the game so easily.

The fact they went into Arkansas and blasted the hogs shows they aren't your father's (or even grandfather's) NTSU. If people can't realize that programs can rise while others can fall (Nebraska), then they aren't paying attention and are stuck in the 80's.

Maybe it will seem less embarrassing when North Texas goes undefeated this year.

Y'all must not have small children, because you're overlooking a critical X factor in this weekend's attendance:

Paw. Patrol.

Seriously, I don't know if this is a crazy idea or a crazy good idea.

Does that include the Paw Patrol? Please clarify.

From what they just showed on ESPN about 800. Not counting the band.

The crowd was much better than I expected. There were zero away fans and the weather was much better than I expected.

I left after the half because my 5 y/o was just about done,

Family weekend works. While I know it’s HBU, I wish our fans were actually loud on 3rd downs. I hate the tea-sipping, elitist-like fans. Ugh!

Better attendance than Navy game. Encouraging.

It’s just a blip with family weekend. We will have it similar for homecoming. There’s no change in interest and that’s to be expected given the beginning of the season plus losing a coach. Until we are going 9-3 consistently, we should expect 40-50% occupancy.

SMU needs to do whatever they can to keep Sonny. He is going to turn us into a winner. Not a big winner this year but it will happen.
