This was SMU’s third game against an AP top-20 opponent: No. 16 TCU, at No. 19 Michigan and No. 12 UCF.

- He had at least one TD catch for the fourth straight game, T-5th in SMU history
- 12 receptions is a career high (was 11 at Michigan 9/15/18) and 2 TDs ties his career high
- 229 all-purpose yards is a career high (was 214 at Michigan) and ranks 17th in SMU history

Braeden West became the ninth player in program history to reach 4,000 career all-purpose yards.

Ben Hicks set the SMU career passing yardage record at 7205, passing Chuck Hixson (7179 from 1968-70). He also extended his career records for TD pass (58) and career TD responsibility (61 total; 3 run, 58 passing)
