Caravan A-Comin'

...the one from Houston to invade Ford Stadium. They will surely outnumber us (not hard) and they're a rowdy bunch. Hopefully, they won't bring that obnoxious band.

Hey, it would be nice to have a good college band at Ford!

When Cincinnati had the ball late driving to try to win the game was our band cheering on the defense?

Nope - they were dancing. Not even paying attention to the game.

It will be nice to have more people on the visitor side actually interested in the game. With a night game, I wonder how many homecoming visitors will actually attend the game. Maybe the 1st half?

We went to the uh-usf game yesterday. UH people we were tailgating with, were really complaining about how Houston doesn't support uh. They were moaning about they might be close to sold out, but there would be empty seats. We also went to the uh-tulsa game. UH has improved since that game. They were playing w/out their defensive super star, too.

F*ck you, the dance is a cheer. There's a drum cadence making noise and people stomping on the stands. A distinct WOO at the end of each measure. Those kids have more spirit than you guaranteed. I'm deducting spirit points for sh*tting on the oldest student organization.

I think we should go back to playing that song at the end of the third quarter...

That would make sense.

I will agree it looked really strange with the majority of the stands all up cheering and one little isolated section of people over in the corner not watching the game.

The band poster is certainly entitled to his opinion, but I will say there are four or five people in my section who always dance along with the band (I think they are former members), but yesterday they were up cheering for the defense like all of the other SMU fans.

As for the original topic, I would expect a ton of Houston fans in Ford next Saturday night.

With the 6pm start it gives them plenty of time to get to Dallas and just stay the night. They will be energized after their big win this week.

The long range forecast looks like a great night for football too.

But they cannot get home before 11:00 so most will miss a full day of work.

Yes.

Shifts at 7 - 11 are 7 to 3, 3 to 11 and 11 to 7. Not a bad summer gig for high school student. I worked the 3 to 11 so I could sleep late and still work full time all summer.
