With his having been a H.S. QB, I kept waiting for a quick pitch to him rolling to the wide side of the field with a RPO. Cincy was overplaying the run and leaving their secondary in man coverage so I thought we had more deep ball opportunities, especially with a little deception mixed in. Maybe saving that for Houston where we will be even more overmatched physically than we were yesterday?

The Lombardi Green Bay Packers would run the half back options multiple times each game. If the backer stayed back they would run and pass if he came forward. Play was always good for 6 to 8 yards with little risk of interception. No need to conceal the play and wait for Houston.

I was visiting a friend in a nursing home in Texarkana when a little lady who worked there noticed my SMU sweater and said her son plays for SMU. It was Freeman's mother. I told her how glad we were to have him on the team and hoped he used his education well.
Long live Inez Perez!

He has been hurt this season, hasn't he? Freeman was fantastic tonight.

Anyone know why West didn't play until midway through the second quarter?

Probably because Xavier was getting reps. All the Houston guys got reps in this one, including Page. I think they were a little fired up. Xavier was just trying to do too much when he had his fumble/six

Also we had 23 yards rushing vs. Cincinnati so I think it was time to mix it up

Should you see her again please tell her that there are a LOT of SMU fans who share your thanks and have the same good wishes.

4th and one. Houston linebacker plugs the hole. Freeman plugs the linebacker. Best 2 yard run ever.
