Who gets his snaps in the first half? Biggurs? McLarin?

both at the same time? Play the old 5-3-4 defense.

McLaurin needs to get into better shape. I say that as probably his biggest fan. The guy is a run stopper but we need him consistently (and against Memphis, we REALLY need him). I think you rotate him and Biggurs in the first half (McLaurin on 1st downs and obvious run downs). I've never been a big Biggurs fan, although he's played ok every once in a while.

This game will come down to our run defense. Henderson will get his, but can't let him run for 300 yards. Might need to do some run blitzing and Nelson and Moore are going to have to play with their hair on fire. Then, need back end to carry their weight.

It was a BS call...

Oh well, hoping the young guys take advantage of their situation and Gary TEARS [deleted] UP in the 2nd half!

It will be interesting to see if the motivation of starting pushes McLaurin to stay focused and motivated on every play.

We haven't seen Terrance Newman in the last couple of games - maybe he's back the rotation? Or a definite redshirt?

McLaurin is good for a couple of plays, then he is gassed. If he could lose about 20 more pounds of blubber, it would help.

Memphis, knowing we are one short of D line rotation, could go hurry up O without subs and flat wear out our D line before the end of the second quarter. Then just dominate the LOS in the second half. Backers and secondary have to step up to help protect the D line.

It's funny how much criticism I get for my emphasis on DT recruiting (more so on the other site than this one). But ponyte's post is exactly my point. When you have high quality DT depth (2-3 deep), you don't worry as much about that. It's like punching Rocky - punch all you want, it just wears YOU out. I can take it.

Moore and Nelson are going to have to play the games of their lives (and Mitchell). And we need guys like D Scott to dominate their guy.

I worry about Onu and McQueen getting steam rolled by Henderson (they are hard nosed, athletic guys but undersized).

Steamrolled is to mild a word for what happened to McQueen on that one run.
