Ty Story, Chad’s QB last year has just put his name in the transfer portal. I would gladly do an even exchange of Hicks for Story.

Is he going to graduate in time?

he's going to be lucky to get a decent offer-he was one of the worst QBs I saw all year. Hicks btw is visiting Louisville this weekend

Ty is a good QB. He had no OL. I am not hoping to get him but it would definitely be a trade up over Hicks.

And I visited DC once but they did not make me President.

Hicks is going to get multiple P5 offers-we'll see how many Storey gets

Although I did not think so before, now with Storey leaving, I would bet Morris will bring Hicks in as insurance. Conner Nolan will start for Arkansas and Morris has his pick coming in as a freshman who will eventually take over but Morris may want a man familiar with his offense as a back up.

I still can't believe Rafe Peavey didn't work out for SMU.

Perfect example why everyone is fooling themselves believing that a GT is the salvation for our QB woes. Yes, every year there are a few limited examples of a GT QB giving a high profile program a one year shot in the arm; however, that situation is relatively rare. I still maintain that Hicks is a huge loss and would have been our best option to be competitive next season and serve as the perfect transition QB allowing this staff the time to resolve the issues at that position.

An effective grad transfer from a P5 school isn't just an automatic starter. Best opportunities are when the transfer is a high ranking recruit who just couldn't get PT behind a really good QB. The Buchele situation at UT is much different from a backup at Arkansas transferring in.

After starting for SMU these past 3 seasons, I think Morris would have a hard time selling Hicks on coming in as a backup in the worst program in the SEC.

Well sometimes coaches tell players what the player wants to hear, not what is true.

Pretty sure Chad is always a straight shooter though.
