Not sure how these 12 counts of Academic fraud compare to our 1 count in Basketball ...

Great article in the Athletic today where someone from USC basically points out that nobody should ever cooperate with the NCAA because of how they handle these types of cases.

As the article said: If the NCAA comes knocking, the best response seems to be to bar the door, lawyer up and wage war. But do you think SMU would ever do that? I don't.

I have heard from Mizzou insiders that they intend to lawyer up and fight this one on appeal. The sentiment up there is that these penalties will end up being reduced.

Meanwhile the University of North Carolina skates because of NCAA investigators "mishandling the investigation" after UNC came out fighting and firing. Same with Miami Hurricanes...same excuse, too.

Both deserved our fate...but they make $$ for the NCAA. We didn't.

Look out Cleveland State...

It wasn’t investigators mishandling anything. It was UNC stonewalling, denying that they had a fraudulent academic department, and just as importantly, letting a few non-athletes into the classes.

Mizzou (and SMU) should have had the tutor (admin) fake some schoolwork for non-athletes too.

The Mustangs don't know how to cheat correctly. Or shall I say circumvent the rules as all the top tier programs do

UNC maneuvered themselves through a gaping loophole in the NCAA rulebook - Mizzou, not so much.
