It did. Today's update has SMU up to #142 in the country, with a whopping 73% of our points coming just from Men's Golf. This puts SMU barely into the top half of schools, but that is not likely to last as softball, baseball, and track and field are the only sports left to earn points in, and SMU's representation in track and field is pretty limited. By the way, the track and field finals are underway today/tonight in Austin and are supposed to be on ESPN "platforms:"

One step forward and 2 steps back. SMU has gone nowhere. Nothing ever changes. Drain the quagmire.

Seems like just lots of steps back to me. Our lowest directors cup finish ever was #128 in 2018.

Just to put this in some perspective:

#140 Florida Gulf Coast
#141 UC Irvine
#142 SMU
#143 Sam Houston State
#144 Missouri State

We need something like the USF/UCF war on I-4. https://www.war-on-i4.com/About-the-War-On-I-4

SMU vs Houston: Overdrive on I-45

That would shake some stuff up.

for a long time many of us have advocated that Hart be fired but no action. This result just further illustrates his complete incompetence and lack of interest in quality athletics programs by RGT and the administration. SMU should just forget all of their sports programs and drop down to D3.

Fire Hart

The one thing we actually did well was raise money, but now he has somehow managed to alienate the faithful.

I heart melodrama.

Great info! Weren’t a couple sports cut in the mid-2000s for Title IX/budget reasons?
Do you think overall funding has declined or just leadership capability?

Budget is not a major issue in our rankings freefall. New aac deal is 4x our current payout. We were awesome in many sports nationally from the WAC.

It used to be: follow the rules, win, go. Now it seems like a logistics maze.
