Looks like a good get. Had offers out of high school from BC, Army, Colorado State, UNT, Navy, Fordham and SMU.

BC bio lists him at 6-3, 295 and had this on his bio:
HIGH SCHOOL: Rated the No. 63 offensive guard nationally according to 247Sports … listed by Rivals.com as the No. 54 offensive tackle in the country and a top-100 recruit in the state of Texas (97th overall) … ESPN Recruiting tabbed Shelmire as the No. 38 offensive guard in the country and the No. 100 overall recruit in Texas … Texas Class 5A All-State first team selection as a junior … rated by SportsDay as the No. 40 overall recruit in the Dallas area prior to the season … all-district performer as a sophomore and junior … played for head coach Randy Allen at Highland Park High School … team captain.

Imagine moving back home from the northeast. It would quite possibly be the best day of my life

It was for me although Ithaca has some beautiful country around it.

A lot of the northeast is gorgeous -- definitely including Ithaca.

Uhh! not so much in the winter, unless you are a snowbunny.

The winter I lived in Ithaca there were more inches of snow in Galveston, Tx than in Ithaca.

Just moved away from Mass. and I can guarantee there were many more inches of snow in Mass. than in Galveston all three years I lived there.

I had a unique year. One 5 inch snow was all we had in Ithaca. Of course it stayed around all winter. Galveston we read had two 3 inch snows each of which probably lasted about 12 hours before being melted away.

I'm currently living in Boston and walk past the BC almost daily. Trust me, there ain't a damn thing wrong with Chestnut Hill.

It snowed in Galveston in 2004 on Christmas Eve! We woke our kids up and everyone was playing in it outside. It was so pretty & fun! We had several inches and it lasted a couple of days. We went to my sister’s north of Houston for Christmas and the temperature got warmer the more north we went.
