A) Stay healthy
B) Buechele can get acclimated to working with Proché and Roberson Page and the rest
C) Some cornerbacks step up
D) Solidify linebackers around Moore

If we are 6&4 after ECU, we will not lose to Navy and go bowling with an 8&4 record

My keys to bowling:

1. All about 3rd downs. Convert more on offense, get off field on defense.
2. Establish a running game. (helps with #1 above).
3. Get the Arky CB and Nebraska safety eligible!

If those 3 things happen, we bowl. 7-8 wins. Offense HAS to start fast against Arky State.

Prediction: this board will go into total meltdown if we lose at Arkansas State, which is a very real possibility. I do agree that finding 7 wins is probably going to require beating both Arky State and UNT unless this is the year SMU becomes the surprise team in AAC play. With road games at Houston, Memphis, USF & Navy it's going to be really tough to do better than .500 in conference play.

I see 6-6, then a bowl game win at the end... a surprise win, and a frustrating loss mixed in.

If we can pull out wins in those 1st two games, we could win 8. A lot easier said, than done though.

If Buechele performs anywhere close to the way Garrett Gilbert did for us we will win 7-8 games because this time we have nice players to surround our QB.

It's going to be a hazy fall if the games are all that close

Can anybody imagine what it would be like to go into a football season.”expecting” to win x number of games or expecting to win a conference championship instead of “hoping” for a 6 or 7 win season?

yes, I am sure fans at Bama, Ohio St. and a couple of other majors enter expecting to win.
