Two things I didn't know until I opened my season tickets...

Postby JasonB » Wed Aug 21, 2019 7:07 pm

1) For some reason it never clicked with me that the Mustang Club area will be inside the Indoor facility. That is awesome. No brainer, makes a lot of sense and I'll probably go to games earlier so I can watch other games on TV in air conditioning (or heating). I have really enjoyed the environment that created for season ticket holders at other universities. It just feels more big-time.

2) I didn't realize the Dallas Hall spots were up for sale. Maybe the move of the students isn't as stupid as some of us thought if it actually expands the expanse of paid boulevard spots all the way to DH and drives up attendance. Again, feels like a move to prepare for a big time turnaround in SMU Football.

So Mustang Clubbers will be inside and students over by Doak's statue. Plenty of elbow room on the actual Boulevard, I guess.

Thank goodness. SMU football fans not used to crowds.

Moving the students might have been the worst move in SMU history

Drives up attendance--that's a good one, Not with this schedule

Just show up and cheer for your team regardless. It isn't getting better anytime soon. Complaining about it, and not going definitely wont help.

Pulling folks off the Boulevard is not a good idea IMO. First you have the students. Now you’ve got 200 people who could be mingling and mixing who are secluded indoors. I’m not going to participate. Boulevarding is an outdoor activity... done on the Boulevard.

The indoor facility is on the boulevard. And only a few people. No big deal.

If we can sell out boulevard spots all the way to DH, that is a win. If those go empty, then moving the students was a mistake.

I've had a spot on the Boulevard south of the flagpole for the last 13 years. Five of my long time neighbors cancelled their spots before last season, and no one picked them up. There are plenty of spots south of Dallas Hall whereby the students did not need to be relocated. The "scenery" with the walk bye will not be as appealing this year.

Then maybe putting the scenery near the stadium will actually get people off the boulevard and into the stadium?
