Different in that it equates our win over Arkansas State as just as impressive as a win over Texas (LSU) or Florida State (Boise).

#6? Half the points must come from the “super cool uniforms” component.

It's a computer ranking system. With only 2 weeks of data, it's still basically meaningless. Because our opponents both won their other games, we have a perfect record AND a perfect opponents' record, so we're at the top. This is why computer rankings should be ignored until after week 4 or 5.

The AP poll and Coaches poll are just as meaningless this early in the season and as a result present a clear bias toward the P5. Sorry, but what happened last year has no bearing on this season yet it is the sole factor of the preseason poll and as a result strongly influences the early poll, that and P5 status.

I don't think number 6 is ludicrous. Do we have any evidence so far that we are not that good?

Imagine this scenario.

We win big against Texas State. TCU wins and gets ranked. We go into Ft Worthless and beat the Toads. We will start receiving votes.

(of course, being of the battered wife syndrome persuasion, we'd then probably get over confident and get creamed at USF thereafter).

But I DO see a scenario, as unlikely as it seems to be.

That's an easier scenario for me to envision than having an SMU basketball team go 30-5 and placing three guys in the NBA.

Nope but we don't have any evidence that we are. This should be more like a leader board that shows 30 some teams are tied for the lead at 2 under after 2 holes.

Sooooo, you’re saying there’s a chance, right now, that we’re in the Top 10 in the country????
