PonyFans are loving the Mustangs' 3-0 start, and Saturday's matchup with 2-0 TCU means a meeting of two unbeaten teams. So how much do you really know about the two teams?
• SMU has beaten Arkansas State (37-30), North Texas (49-27) and Texas State (47-17). The Frogs have beaten Arkansas-Pine Bluff (39-7) and Purdue (34-13).
• No. 25 TCU has the Big 12's longest current win streak, at five games, which is tied for the seventh-longest in the country.
• Xavier Jones' seven rushing touchdowns are tied for the national lead among FBS teams. His 29 career rushing touchdowns are the fifth-highest total in program history, two behind No. 4 Doak Walker.
• TCU is 2-0 for the 12th time in 19 seasons under head coach Gary Patterson.
• Five current SMU coaches — Sonny Dykes, David Gru, Chris Brasfield, Jamal Powell and Trey Haverty — either played at TCU or have coached there under Patterson. TCU offensive analyst Rusty Burns used to be SMU's offensive coordinator.
• The Horned Frogs rank second in the country in total defense, allowing just 209.5 yards per game and forcing opponents to go 3-and-out on 60 percent (18 of 30) offensive drives.
• With 114 meetings, only Baylor has faced TCU more often than SMU; Saturday's game will be the 99th time SMU and TCU have faced off.
• SMU's 639 yards of total offense in the Mustangs' win over Texas State were the third-highest total in program history.
• Shane Buechele's 871 passing yards, Reggie Roberson's 342 receiving yards and Pat Nelson's 1.67 sacks per game all lead the American Athletic Conference.
• TCU is one of just six teams in the country to finish in the top 10 of the final poll in at least three of the last five years. The others: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia and Oklahoma.
• With the second-longest tenure among head coaches in the country, Patterson's 19 years in Fort Worth are longer than the tenures of the other 11 FBS head coaches in Texas ... combined.
• With a strong season, James Proché has a chance to set just about every receiving record in SMU history. He ranks fifth in receiving yards (2,938), fourth in receiving touchdowns (26) and fifth in receptions (207).

Proche is really good, obviously, but I didn't realize he's within shouting distance of Sanders' records
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!
