How bout Rice

Stepping in and making some plays. I absolutely hate to see players go down on either team. Yet it’s interesting to see how young guys thrown into the fire perform. Thought he did well!

Yeah, supposedly he's the most polished of the big 3. I'm surprise we haven't seen Wiggins at all so far.

Wiggins has played some. Just no receptions.

There is going to be a platoon of dangerous WR's in this offense. Can't wait to see the results.

Rice, came in and made some big plays and I feel like he will be a big time contributor in years to come. Has anyone heard what the injury to Roberson was exactly and if there is any update on him?

Haven't heard but looked like a concussion to me. His head bounced off the turf.

Rice needs some experience and time with Shane to really excel. I hope this bye week provides that, unless that means that Roberson is delayed returning.

I heard the old bell rung thing. Glad we have a week off for him to get better.

My kids talked with him on the field after the game and he gave them the thumbs up.

Don't take this as an official diagnosis, but we did stay in a Holiday Inn Express recently.

Sonny said in the post game that Roberson is fine.

Is it going to be the case that every kid that lines up at receiver for us ends up playing on Sundays? At this rate, by 2024 we'll have every starting position in the NFL filled with former SMU receivers.

As Proche said post game, Rice has a very long way to go but the sky is the limit for him - just a matter of how bad he wants it, the work he's willing to put in.

Great 4th down catch and broken tackle. Big time. Break that tackle and get in the end zone, though, young man! :-)

Only 2 other gripes is earlier in the game, he cut his route short and Shane threw an incompletion instead of running through the route and into the open spot. That could have been a very very big gain, like an 80 yard touchdown kind of gain. Also, the run down the sideline should have been a touchdown, he slowed up for some reason and gave the defender time to catch up to him vs running through the tape and beating the guy's angle.

Anyway, it's the little things that make somebody great. If he puts in the work, he could be really big time. Hope Burns and Wiggins and he break all the record books here!

And Rice should start now with Proche and Roberson. Bring in Page (and Sanders!) and Bell for blocking and jump balls. That's a lot of horsepower. (I really thought Bell could have been a Sutton-lite but just hasn't happened yet).

I think with the frosh, they teach them one position and get them to learn it - as you noted, even playing the role as Roberson's backup, he is getting some of the routes wrong. If you open up the positions on him, you are asking for trouble.

I wonder if Burns was the backup behind Page/Galliard.

Nah, it's great that we're running two TE sets and I think it's a key reason we run the ball so well.
