Give Memphis credit for representing the AAC well. Great crowd and lots of enthusiasm, especially considering the 8:00 a.m. start (certainly helped that all the restaurants/bars had "breakfast" specials). I like having Memphis in the conference and my biggest feat is with their return to basketball with Penny and with this showing today, the Big XII could consider actually returning to 12 schools by inviting Memphis and UCF.

Dont get me wrong, Memphis along with UCF, have been the foundation of this conference. They deserve alot of credit. I just thought the face of the hillbilly was hilarious. He was so pissed.

We are sadly looking at a tight win or at worst a blow out loss. Memphis is really a team that if it rain it pours. N OP Roberson is going to kill us but I really hope the defense can create some turnovers to give us a chance. Pony Up Club Takeaway!

Beale Street looks like a fun place to spend an hour and a half, but I'm sorry, this is COLLEGE GameDay and they are 7 miles away from the University of Memphis campus and 5 miles away from the football stadium. There is nothing about this production that makes be care about this university at all, or Memphis for that matter.

The word is that ESPN wanted Beale. The school wanted either the campus or Tiger Lane outside the stadium but it was ESPN's call, and, well, if it's their call so be it.

Besides, it looked great and a poorer city manages to get an extra $50M out of the deal, so who cares. We all wanted Gameday and we got it, and it looked great.

was on Beale Street a few years back. it is one street about 5 blocks long with loud poor quality music blasting away. other than some bars, not much to see or do. let me say it's not Bourbon Street by any means. no need to go back.

ESPN did a good job of playing up the crowd and making Beale Street look fun, and I am happy for them for the economy boost. I actually think having all this commotion so far away from the school and the game takes away a bit of the home team GameDay advantage, which I am all for.
