The AAC has four teams in the rankings: No. 21 Memphis, No. 23 Boise State, No. 24 Navy and No. 25 SMU.

I expected SMU to stay in the top 25, but quibble with the teams slotted just about them. Do BSU and Navy really have better resumes? A three loss OSU? I guess beating a barely ranked ISU and KSU matters more than losing to an unranked Texas.

Being a fan since the late 70's and a regular on this board, this is quite possibly the most ridiculous thread we would have ever expected. Arguing/discussing SMU over the CFP.

Until we prove ourselves over an extended period of time, and the American further proves itself over an extended period of time, we'll continue to see P5 losses valued more than G5 losses. Just the way it is.

Solution is scheduling more P5 teams in OOC, playing more P5 teams in bowl game and beating them.

I’m elated SMU is in the top 25 in the first CFO rankings of the year. Win out, beat Navy and Cinci, and move up.

Surprise no one has lost their minds yet...

SMU removed from the CFP at #20 to NR.

AppState enters at #25.

We were #25. We were replaced by App state who lost at home to Georgia southern.... Boise st lost to 5-4 BYU.

The CFP is being told to even out the G5 because the AAC is making the cartel look bad.

If we were an SEC team a loss to #20 Memphis would be a feather in our cap. This committee is a joke. Texas has 3 losses including one at TCU. App St jumps us by beating a 4-6 team. They lost to Georgia Southern. Boise has a worse SOS but is in comfortably. They squeak by Teams like Wyoming and Marshall without missing a beat. You can say your just happy to be in the conversation but this is complete horsesht

App State also has two (bad) P5 wins. I think we’re the better team but we barely survived a tight game against a conference foe with no conference wins. Probably a coin flip between us right now. Bet we re-enter before the Navy game. Bigger scandal is how low they rank good one loss G5 teams like Memphis and Cincinnati.

Just stay focused on winning the next 2 regular season games. Everything else is out of our control.
