Championship and Bowl Email

Postby BUS » Tue Nov 19, 2019 5:15 pm

Is it me or don't you wait until the Championship Game is announced and then the subsequent Bowl game is announced before you purchase tickets?

I will go to a game here in Dallas for Championship but can't afford them and travel. I know there are those that will go anywhere and I thank them.

As for Bowl game - REALLY want to go... but to say I might not get a ticket as SMU allotment may be gone if I don't sign up now.

Presumptive maybe or I guess I don't get marketing anymore.

They have done this before. It is just trying to guarantee they max out our ticket allotment.

I'm going to be out of the country for the championship game, unfortunately, if we make it. But I went ahead and signed up for all of the bowl games.

If you don't want to commit now, there are always tickets available for any of these games, including the conference championships. You just might not end up sitting in the SMU section is all.

I will communicate to them directly, but they need to separate out committing to aac championship tickets at ford versus committing to an away game. I’d do the former, not the latter.

I would presume that if the Championship game is at Ford all season ticket holders would get the first option on their seats. I'm probably wrong about that based upon past policies of the ticket department. Namely, the Armed Forces Bowl against Army where I didn't get my regular season tickets that I've had forever. But I figured that was just because it was a bowl game and technically the tickets were controlled by the bowl.

I assume nothing but you may be right (and if so, that should have been explained).

Wasn’t the last bowl SMU went to the Frisco Bowl? Didn’t we get the living hell kicked out of us? I don’t think the ‘Fightin Ponies’ are above any bowl yet. Not my dream destination but down the road. I’ll be there.

Unbelievable, I just got another email from them a few minutes ago, to reserve my championship tickets. They are absolutely clueless over there.

Lol exactly. I’m shocked at the lack of humility, value judgments, and negativity the fans of probably the worst football team in the last 30 years are during a dream season. Fans of any other team looking in would be like “good for SMU, they had a good year.” But many SMU fans are bashing players, bashing bowls (that haven’t even been announced yet). Have you not listened to Sonny? Enjoy the moment, and each game. Losses happen on the road against teams that were ranked a week ago.
