Almost from the day Mike Aresco became commissioner of the newly minted American Athletic Conference in 2013, he has pushed for the league to be viewed as part of the "Power Six" - a term he created - rather than the Group of Five conferences that are more or less shunned by major college football's Power Five cartel.

If you watch an AAC game on television, you will be asked to watch numerous league-produced public service announcements that refer to it as a member of the Power Six, as if that's a given. Even the down-markers at AAC games are labeled "P-6."

Thank you for the post and the read. AAC plays good football and is getting a big increase in TV money. I think starting next year. But Commish is right on target with his numbers. There is proof that AAC is P-6 and should get a cut of the really big money.

SMU - Just keep winning and SMU - Get that stadium filled.
