The American Athletic Conference doesn’t have a true pecking order. The bowl matchups are based on best possible games and geography.

– Jared Birmingham Bowl vs. SEC
– Bad Boy Mowers Gasparillia Bowl vs. Conference USA
– Hawaii Bowl vs. BYU or Mountain West
– Military Bowl presented by Northrup Grumman vs. ACC
– Cheribundi Tart Cherry Bowl vs. Conference USA
– AutoNation Cure Bowl vs. Sun Belt
– Frisco Bowl vs. At-Large

The American Athletic has secondary partnerships with the AutoZone Liberty and Walk-On’s Independence, to fill if the main affiliations can’t fill their slots.

Thanks for this. So why are we able to be possibly considered for the Texas bowl? Is it that if certain bowls don't have a secondary partnership that they can go to at-large?

Exactly, the SEC can't fill all their bowl arrangements. Which ones they'll have to pass on is TBD.

I'm sure your personal experience was fine TW . I'm speaking of the location and the facility itself.

It doesn't take as many times as I've been there to understand that this is the little stepbrother Facility that hasn't had any upgrade since John F. Kennedy.

Of all of the facilities I have attended in the last 20 years this is the least overwhelming.
It needs to be imploded.

I get it . I'm selfish I like it warm in the Winter anywhere in Florida.

In addition it would ruin people's spirits to get waxed by a P5 team we're not ready for this year.

A new 50,000 seat stadium is under construction in downtown B-ham. The old gray lady’s days are numbered.

If the SEC gets 3 or 4 in the playoff & NY6 they’ll only have 4 teams to fill six spots of which the Liberty and Texas Bowl are two.

I could see SMU in either against someone like OSU, KSU, or ISU. UT will be off the board by then.

It will ruin people’s spirits if 10-2 SMU goes to Frisco.

True.

Can't we all just go hang out at Clearwater beach catch a buzz and stomp the dog [deleted] out of a conference USA team lol

Frisco should be Tulane’s landing place.
