Here is my prediction about the bowl for SMU

Postby Insane_Pony_Posse » Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:09 am

No matter what bowl we get selected to attend:

Someone is not going to like the location

Someone is not going to like the date

Someone is not going to like the time

Someone is not going to like the opponent

Someone is not going to like the stadium

Someone is not going to like the weather

Within minutes of any bowl selection someone will think "it sucks"

It sounded like on Sunday when they release the CFP rankings. It's weird they can do that after the navy-army game.

Independence Bowl v Miami. (2 private schools, SMU should be following Miami's blueprint in building that program in the late 80s ie keep all that city's talent at home).

Just hope we win. REALLY need to win that game!

Man, I would love that bowl game. I am really starting to hope for the Independence Bowl, I think we would have a great turnout there and would most likely play a P5 team. A person can have a lot of fun in Shreveport to, if know where to go, and 24/7 casinos with no state antes!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Many on this board will freak out about attendance leading up to the bowl game and on game day we shall see that our fans had a very strong turnout. It happened the year we went to the Armed Forces Bowl, BBVA Bowl, and Frisco Bowl. I was especially impressed with our crowd at the BBVA Bowl. Hawaii was not bad either considering the difficult date and the expense.

Very true. SMU representation has not been much of a problem at bowl games.

I think we'll have a good showing no matter where we wind up. A lot to celebrate this season.

I'm on board with ojaipony's Independence Bowl vs. Miami. Even though the Canes aren't what they once were, beating them would be viewed as a statement game on the national scale.
