Flights to South Florida

Postby Dukie » Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:20 pm

Part of this was mentioned in the "roll call" thread but for those making travel arrangements, please do not overlook that there are three airports that are close to Boca Raton. Both FLL and PBI are about 25 miles from Boca. MIA is within 50 miles.

FLL is a big Southwest destination, and you can fly American nonstop from DFW to all three airports.

FLL and MIA were the cheapest options that I found when I did my research.
PBI was easily a few hundred more than either of those two.
I wound up booking FLL direct out of DFW.

We are flying into Orlando on Southwest. Plenty of flights and reasonable cost. Renting a car and driving the 2 1/2 hours to Boca.

That's a nice ride too, make it a little longer and stay on A1A instead of the freeway

Sensible option...

Just a heads up for those Mustangs coming down from north ,on I-95, or flying into MCO...Some of THE BEST seafood in Florida is found in Titusville, Florida at Dixie Crossroads. It is a family owned restaurant that has its own boats that live catch and shrimp...try the grilled rock shrimp.

Go Mustangs...

I haven't looked yet. Are Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach more expensive than Miami?

PBI was the most expensive when I booked Sunday.
FLL and MIA were about the same. Not sure what it would be now.

https://www.kayak.com/flights

go to kayak.com. you can request to nearby airport. PBI/FLL/MIA. you can select multi airports option instead on round trip. for example fly into FLL and leave from MIA. you can narrow search to one or multiple airline carries. you can do a lot of stuff, narrow down to what fits your time frame and budget.
I use kayak for international flights as well. wonderful web site.

further google flights
https://www.google.com › flights
is another web site worth looking at.

there sites don't look for Southwest Airlines flight. you have to go directly to SW web site to use them.

Going to Melbourne. Same as Orlando but a bit cheaper and a much easier airport. 90 minute drive down the coast.
