Are we sending a full or partial band for the bowl?

I asked the same question yesterday and got no response. Perhaps all the 'admin' people should pay their own way (including little ricky) and use the additional funds for band people.

Soon SMU will be known as the university that is 'all hat and no cattle'. aka pony poverty. This might make a great article in the DMN.

Band scholarship pays for less than 4% of tuition cost and you actually lose money because you have to pay for the credit hour. They deserve a trip.

Malonish, I can appreciate the sentiment of treating the band to something nice, but let's talk practicality: flight seats, food, and hotel rooms cost money. Is the extra expenditure going to increase SMUs marketability directly or indirectly? Being that they are not the department directly involved (the football team), they are bound to have a little less discretion in who they may bring, unlike the football team who will bring players that are not going to contribute to the game.

Are you saying that SMU doesn't have MONEY? Waaaay too many deep pockets that can fund this. If they got Peruna to HAWAII, somebody can pony up for 96 Guys and a Doll to Florida. There IS money.

Can only go to the same well so many times........but it is hard to believe that there aren’t any funds that Turner or Hart have access to that could cover this.

Rather insulting that the SID could not give us the courtesy of a response or did I miss it here?

understand but he used to respond to some posts on here.

Maybe a call to some of the people at DMN regarding they won't send all of the band but have plenty of funds to send spouses of a lot of the admin. who do very little that is as visible as the band. Just an idea.

Would be very interesting to see who all is going as part of the SMU contingency.

that question was asked at the same time but again no response.

My experience has been that when a question is ignored they do not want their fans to know the truth.
