Tweet from Dallas Morning News reporter Sam Blum:

FAU is going to be without its two top receivers and its top tackler for Saturday's game vs. SMU, per @FAUOWLACCESS. Two because of academic suspension, and another because of illness.

The top two receivers are:

Tight end Harrison Bryant
John Mackey Award (nation's best tight end) winner
65 catches
1,004 receiving yards
7 receiving touchdowns

Wide receiver Deangelo Antoine
61 catches
771 receiving yards
5 touchdowns

The Owls' top tackler is linebacker Akileis Leroy.
101 tackles
3 interceptions
5 forced fumbles

I guess that Harrison Bryant is not an academic All American. That's fortunate for the Ponies.

Antoine and Tavaris Harrison are the suspended receivers, and Leroy is the suspended defensive starter.

Also, per ESPN, tight end Harrison Bryant is battling an illness and will be a game-time decision.

I'll be praying he gets better...on Sunday.

I'm sure the T.V. announcers will mention the F.A.U. starters out during pregame, but

I hope they don't repeat it over, and over during the game, we have been without

starting wide receiver, and starting linebacker for half the season.

I hope Bryant recoers and is ready to play. We want to beat them with their best and the kid has had a great season. It would be a shame if he doens't get to playout the last game of the season.

The other two I have less sympathy for as they earned their suspension by not doing a fundamental in college sport, make grades.

May want to research the Arkansas vs OU Orange Bowl from several years ago when Lou Holtz was UA coach. He suspended 3 top players for team violations before the game. A huge underdog UA rolled OU with a little more energy and OU with an over abundance of confidence. Need the team to stay focused.

I wonder if Bryant has that relatively new disease called “Idontwanttogethurtbeforethedraftitis”?
