Is that relieving news? It doesn't sound like that's a step up at all. Maybe not even in pay so I'm not sure there was much to worry about.

I agree not a step up but a significant pay increase

Anybody going to Texas is taking a huge gamble. I think Herman has one year to get them to a Big 12 conference championship or he's out. Any losses to lower tier teams like Kansas will get him an auto-boot. I think the only coaches going there are redemption seekers or money grabbers.
Two things: 1) Get to NY6 2) Fire Jank…. Let's go!

If that job opened up and they were I interested, I could see Sonny going there. I think UT and Tech are jobs he'd take to leave SMU

Shetland - I agree to disagree - I believe Sonny will be here as long as we want him - that is what he said and I believe him

Unless you are extremely confident in yourself or you just want to go out with a big payday, Texas is not the job for you. They have short tempers and high expectations after YR1. The only coach that might have done that is Rhule and they missed out.

Yeah Div 1 football coaches are known for not being extremely confident in themselves...
